چکیده

This paper presents a dynamic sensor-planning system that is capable of planning the locations and settings of vision sensors for use in an environment containing objects moving in known ways. The key component of this research is the computation of the camera position, orientation, and optical settings to be used over a time interval. A new algorithm is presented for viewpoint computation which ensures that the feature-detectability constraints of focus, resolution, field of view, and visibility are satisfied. A five-degree-of-freedom Cartesian robot carrying a CCD camera in a hand/eye configuration and surrounding the work cell of a Puma 560 robot was constructed for performing sensor-planning experiments. The results of these experiments, demonstrating the use of this system in a robot work cell,

Computing camera viewpoints in a robot work-cell

Automatically planning a camera viewpoint for tasks such as inspection in an active robot work-cell is a disJicult problem. This paper discusses new methods for computing viewpoints which meet the feature detectability constraints of focus, jield-of view, visibility, and resolution. A theoretical outline of the method is presented, followed by experimental results and a discussion offuture work,

Swept Volumes and Their Use in Viewpoint Computation in Robot Work-Cells

This paper discusses the automaticcomputation of viewpoints for monitoringobjects and features in an active robot work-cell. An important step in our algorithm for finding viewpoints is the computation of the volumes swept by polyhedral objects moving through space. A method for approximating these volumes for arbitrarily moving polyhedra is presented. Some swept volume results are presented, a...

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

Motion detection by a moving observer using Kalman filter and neural network in soccer robot

In many autonomous mobile applications, robots must be capable of analyzing motion of moving objects in their environment. Duringmovement of robot the quality of images is affected by quakes of camera which cause high errors in image processing outputs. In thispaper, we propose a novel method to effectively overcome this problem using Neural Networks and Kalman Filtering theory. Thistechnique u...
